Barry wrote to Lord Freud in December expressing deep concerns about the proposal to transfer responsibility for disability benefit Attendance Allowance to local authorities.
Attendance Allowance provides valuable support for many elderly disabled residents in Brent North and often allows them to remain in their own homes with dignity, choice and control.

This week the Minister for Disabled People confirmed to Barry that having listened to the views of those who made representations, Attendance Allowance funding would not be localised as part of the Business Rate Reform.
