The Government’s sticking plaster solutions to flood protection are economically illiterate and morally bankrupt
This week in Parliament Labour held an Opposition Day Debate on flooding – we’re standing shoulder to shoulder with our flood-affected communities, and holding this Government to account.
Climate change brings increasingly frequent and severe weather patterns and this means more floods. But the Government has consistently underestimated the effects of climate change - and so has significantly undermined our ability to protect ourselves against its impacts.
We need action, answers and justice. Only with real transparency will we properly protect those at risk today - and into the future.
