How Barry can help

Barry is able to help his constituents with a range of problems they might have including immigration, housing, health, transport, education, street care, benefits, anti-social behaviour and more.

Who can Barry help?

Barry can help constituents who live in Brent North.  Due to Parliamentary Protocol Barry is unable to represent anyone that does not live in this area and you should contact your own MP directly.

To check if you live in Barry’s constituency please use: http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/

Please note that since May 2010 the area that Brent North covers has increased following a review by the Boundaries Commission.  The new areas include Alperton, Wembley Central and Barnhill.  Barry is happy to assist with casework if you live in one of these areas.

How can Barry help?

Barry can contact the relevant Government or Council department or agency on your behalf and will request that they address or review the issue you have raised.  If you have already been through the relevant complaints procedure, Barry can assist you to take your complaint to the appropriate Ombudsman to review.

Barry may provide you with details of other organisations who can also assist you, particularly if the problem concerns a legal matter.

If the problem relates to something local that is impacting a large number of constituents, Barry may organise a public meeting or wider campaign if appropriate.

How will I be kept up to date with my case?

You will receive copies of all letters Barry writes on your behalf and he will also send you copies of any responses he receives.

Government departments and agencies can sometimes take up to six weeks to answer Barry’s letters. If Barry does not receive a reply within that time, please contact his office and he will be happy to chase the department for a response.
