Barry welcomes signing of Paris climate agreement

Shadow Climate Change Minister Barry Gardiner, welcomed today's signing ceremony in New York of the groundbreaking Paris Agreement saying "Today makes the transition to clean energy inevitable and irreversible."

Mr Gardiner continued, "This signing ceremony should galvanise governments to hold true to the promises they made last December to protect the world from dangerous climate change. In the UK this means setting an ambitious 5th carbon budget this June and committing much more support for renewables and clean energy infrastructure in order to deliver this goal."
